PSS: Adult ADD...Favorite Movie, Actor..oh Look! A Cookie!!!

This week my sister asked: Your own, personal all-time Oscars. Best Actor ever, Best Actress ever, Best Film ever, And, of course, WHY?"

I think have adult ADD. I can't sit through a movie and just watch the movie. I have to have a magazine to look at, the internet to browse, laundry to fold, nails to paint, a craft project to work on...you get the point. I am not much of a movie buff. I want to watch a movie that makes me feel good and makes me laugh. I will admit I like chick flicks. I know they all have the same plot and the same ending. I think that's why I like them. I know what to expect. I'm not going to be sad in the end because the good guys always win and the guy and girl always end up together. I don't watch serious "grown up" movies. (I almost put adult movies but I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea.) I don't like scary movies. I get scared way too easy and I am jumpy enough without the help of monsters or scary guys. I can usually only watch a movie once. I can't sit through something I have all ready seen before; it drives me batty.

I read the responses from some of the others in the group, and I haven't even heard of some of the movies or actors/actresses listed. I am not even going to try to come up with an answer to make me sound smart. Cuz, who I am kidding. I used to have the movie Clueless memorized.

I do have movies and actors/actresses that I like. Since I don't have favorites, I'll just make a small list of my likes.

Movies: Patriot. The part where the little girl says, "Papa! Papa! Don't go. I'll say anything. Don't go!" makes me bawl every time. I can hardly even type it without getting misty eyed.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Very disturbing but very good.
Finding Nemo. This is Christian's all time favorite movie. He has it memorized. When we are in a store that uses a PA system, he will say "Can't hear ya, Peach."
Armageddon. The end makes me bawl every time.
Grease. Love, love this movie!
Xanadu. This movie makes me want to go roller skating and prance all over my living room.

Actors: Suddenly I can't think of any I really like, just some that I don't. Tom Cruise and Eddie Murphy top the list. Brad Pitt is up there too. I do like John Travolta and William H Macy though.

Actresses: Again, those I don't like come to mind first. Angelina Jolie is close to the top. I must not be normal because I don't think she is that hot either. I like Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron. They are both just so stinking cute.

I think the last movie I saw in a theater was the Veggietales movie and before that it was Enchanted. I can't sit through a movie usually. If I get a babysitter for a few hours, I would rather not sit in silence with Marcus. I would much rather do something that involved adult conversation.

I think I need to expand my movie watching. I just have a hard time concentrating and paying attention...oh look! a cookie...wait, what was I saying?

What Was I Thinking???

Marcus got Rockband for the Wii for Father's Day. What was I thinking? What have I done? MAKE IT STOP!!!!

PSS:Find a Happy Place...

Last week (yes, I am almost all caught up!) Kim asked: "What is your favorite area of your home and why?"

This is an easy one for me: Emma's room. I LOVE Emma's room. Christian, Emma and I spend a lot of time in there with the door closed so she can't escape. Marcus spent so much time and effort on this room. Everything on the walls except for one picture is handmade by either Marcus, myself, my mother in law or my awesome sister.

There is now a cute tutu hanging on the wall by the flower. Marcus' camera hates me so I didn't get a new picture. The framed picture above the crib is from Target; that is the one thing not homemade.

All the kids' rooms have the same saying above their doors...just in different colors and different fonts. It says "I am a Child of God."

The vinyl lettering above the window says "Thank Heaven for Little Girls."

It's a very cute little girl's room. It fits a baby and can grow with her as she grows for the next little while. I'm hoping this room can last until Emma's at least five or six...but watch her hate the color purple or flowers.

All the kids' bedrooms are cute...in their own "special" way.

PSS: Dating Game

Shane asked awhile ago..."Tell us about the worst, most awkward, most embarrassing or most messed-up date you've ever been on."

I've been on a few blind dates which you would think would be weird or awkward, but none of them were too bad. I had a serious boyfriend through most of high school and the beginning of college. We were together for five years before I met Marcus. Before I got together with my high school boyfriend, I dated a little, but not a lot of different guys. I seemed to always have one guy that I was hung up on that I did the whole dating scene with. I did a lot things together as groups. Looking back now, I regret not dating more. All my dance pictures were with basically the same people. I had a really good guy friend that I went to a lot of dances with and hung out a lot with. My best friend was with one of his friends, so it was fun and comfortable. There was never any feelings beyond friendship so it was easy and fun. Then I got with the guy I was dating before Marcus. I was with him my Junior and Senior years of high school. I would like to have dated other guys and not had a steady boyfriend through some of the funnest years of my life. During my early college years when I was on and off again with that guy, I went on a few dates with different guys and it was really fun. I wish I would have done that more. I am going to encourage all my little ones to just have fun and not get too serious with any one person.

If I had to chose one date (that I can remember anyway) that was awkward, it would have to be my date to my Junior Prom. My boyfriend at the time was going to be out of town the night of the dance. He didn't want me to miss my Junior Prom, so he told me to go with someone to the dance. There was this guy who had a major crush on me at the time. (I know that sounds conceited, but he really did.) He asked me to go to the dance with him. To be honest, I really didn't want to go. I didn't want to miss the dance and my best friend was going with this guy's best friend so we would be together. I don't think my date said ten words to me the whole night. He was really shy around me and wouldn't talk. This is a guy that I hung out with all the time. We had a big group of us that hung out at school and on the weekends. He had always been quiet around me, but I figured that since we were on an official date he would maybe lighten up a bit. I probably didn't help the situation any. When we first got to the dance, I saw one of my really good guy friends. I immediately went to him and we danced the first dance together. I know..pretty cold.

I don't really remember much else about that night. He was obviously freaked about dancing and having to touch me so I don't remember if we danced much. Pictures were really uncomfortable and it shows in the picture. If I remember correctly, he was mad at me after the whole night was over and had some of our friends mad at me too. I don't remember why exactly.

If that is my worst date story, I think I have done pretty good. Most of the dates I have been on with either boyfriends or blind dates have been really fun. Luckily, I get along with most everybody and can have fun. If the guy had fun could be a whole other story. I don't even want to know how many guys could use me as their answer to this question...

PSS: A Three Hour Tour...

So like five years ago, (okay, maybe three weeks) I asked, "You are stranded on an island and will be there for six months. What three things do you want to have with you? (They can't be people, food or electronic devices.)"

Right now my answer is a pillow, blanket and an Imitrex injection....six months of sleep sounds like pure heaven.

Any other time I would probably say a picture of my family, my scriptures and pen and paper.

I have been MIA for awhile. Life has been crazy!!! I have lots to update...hopefully soon.

PSS: Not With a Ten Foot Pole...

Amy asked (like three weeks ago) "If you were running for President, what would your policies be and what would you say to get elected?"

In my high school American Government class one day we separated into groups based on our thoughts and opinions on current issues; abortion, homosexuals, AIDS, Gun control, etc. I was all by myself. Not one other person had the same thoughts or opinions I did.

Many of our friends have very strong political views and opinions. I have learned to not talk politics. I know what I believe in and I am not going to force you into believing what I do. I think everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs. Agree to disagree is what I think when it comes to politics.

I don't think I could ever run for any kind of office. I wouldn't deal well if I lost. I don't deal well with disappointed and failure.

I guess I am taking the chicken way out of this question (SORRY!) and not really answer it.

Go Obama!!!
