I immediately wondered if the ultrasound tech, or the doctor mentioned any "soft markers" things that can indicate an increased risk in your child having DS via this ultrasound?

Not all children with DS have these markers, but many do.

I am the mother of a 2 1/2 year old with DS. I have a huge list of links in my sidebar with blogs of families who have a child with DS.

I also have links to two of the most commonly used forums for parents of children with DS in the lower portion of the sidebar.

I know that hearing the potential of DS can be frightening, please know that there are many people out there that are experiencing life as a parent of a child with DS, and while it is a journey down the road less traveled, it isn't the end of the world.

Please feel free to email me if you should have any specific questions, I may not know the answers, but likely know someone who may.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
